#2089 – DANTIEZ – GHETTO

“Ghetto” is our second release from Dantiez Saunderson. It follows up his killer “Maschine Man / Get Up” single that was supported by the likes of Skream, Vanilla Ace, Camelphat, Duke Dumont, Robert Owens, Piemont, Paride Saraceni, MANIK, Tensnake & DJ T.

Both mixes of “Ghetto” take me back to one of my favourite styles of house music – Wild Pitch. From the early DJ Pierre mixes on the likes of Strictly Rhythm through to the mid nineties heyday of DJ Duke, Roy Davis Jnr, Danell Dixon, et al, that combination of tough beats, hypnotic riffs and trippy arrangements always hit the spot for me and its great to see a producer today bring that feeling back. The “Original Mix” of Ghetto delivers a more organic version and the Trippy Mix takes things 100% tech.

“Times Like These” is a very different beast altogether. This time Dantiez, collaborating with UK duo clouded judgement delivers a tough, New Jersey influenced house groove filled with vocal chops and a superb bumping bass.
